We’re in the thick of it now, Seattle. The Seattle International Film Festival is in full swing and has already showcased some great pieces of art.
One of the best SIFF films is yet to come—the Seattle premiere of Pixar’s “Brave.” From the people who brought us “Finding Nemo” and “Toy Story,” “Brave” is a coming-of-age tale mixed with humor and adventure, comedy and archery. We predict this heartwarming film will become the next Pixar hit! Bring the whole family and check out the premiere June 10 at 6:30pm.
While you’re anxiously awaiting June 10, pass the time with a few of the other amazing flicks screening at AMC Pacific Place 11. On June 2 at 4:00 P.M., catch a screening of “Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best.” Not your average road trip comedy, “Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best” features top-tier music and characters you’ll truly care about.
Later, hit the theater to relive ‘70s nostalgia, Italian style with “Kryptonite!” the story of a dysfunctional family trying to make their way in 1973’s Naples. Director Ivan Cotroneo will attend the screenings on June 2 and June 3 for a Q&A with the audience about his unique film.
What have been your favorite flicks at SIFF so far?

We recently welcomed Melvita‘s passionate Parisian brand ambassador, Didier Thevenin, to Pacific Place for a day of education and rejuvenation. The organically certified, French brand is rightfully proud of its strong foundation of celebrating natural beauty. The philosophy and approach behind Melvita’s products are based upon two key relationships: protecting the nature surrounding us, and safeguarding bees. Learn more in this short video introduction to Melvita: Discover Melvita.
Didier initially introduced us to a plethora of face, skin, body and hair product. The passion he shared for Melvita’s beliefs and ecological approach was completely contagious. After an eye-opening introduction to the brand and philosophy, a Melvita pro took over for thorough skin assessments followed by personalized skin care routine suggestions. Interested in your own? The skin assessment and tutorial is offered daily at our Melvita store for anyone curious to learn more about their own specific facial needs such as hydration and shine, skin tone and texture.
Some of our favorite products from our personal Melvita assessment are outlined below:
The Bio-Excellence Micellar Toner - This is a product used primarily to rid all traces of make-up and impurities from the face and around the eyes. The key ingredients are rose and lavender waters.
Orange Blossom Extraordinary Water - As a ritual to use prior to moisturizing, the orange blossom water leaves skin hydrated.
Bio-Excellence Eye Contour Gel - None of us want crow feet lines on the delicate skin around our eyes. T
his contour gel works at lessening the appearance of dark circles and fine lines.
Bio-Excellence Extraordinary Day Cream - For daily moisture and radiance.
All of these, plus many more skin and body care products, are available at Melvita on level 1 of Pacific Place. Visit Melvita on Facebook to learn about ongoing promotions and exclusive insider events.

(She is after all the reason you’re here!)
The refreshingly zesty Margarita cupcake is topping our list for May. What’s your favorite flavor?

Naturally, fish need water to live and by definition, deserts aren’t well known fo
r having lots of water. This proposes quite the challenge. “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,” a romantic dramedy playing at AMC Pacific Place 11, explores how teamwork, a little positivity, and a lot of faith can accomplish what many would consider the impossible.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo all weekend long at Mexico Restaurant on level 4 at Pacific Place! Even though the major celebration of Cinco de Mayo takes place on Saturday, Mexico Cantina will be offering special promotions and pricing ALL weekend long. If you want to beat the crowds and avoid dining in the restaurant, Mexico is offering a special, “Cinco to Go,” option. Call ahead and place your order to bring the festive flavors home with you. If you dine with Mexico on Saturday, enjoy the Cinco de Mayo promotions on select tequila. Make sure to try our Mexico favorites: the margarita and fajitas. Cross your fingers for sun so that the celebration can be taken to the beautiful and festive patio. Viva Mexico!
April is an exciting month for Il Fornaio at Pacific Place. The Italian restaurant boasts bold and aromatic flavors year round, and with spring now here, the eatery has unveiled a few extra exciting festivities. It is time to invigorate your taste buds and tease your palate; we are taking you on a foodie adventure highlighting the spring flavors of Italy at Il Fornaio. The mouth watering pizza below is already catching your eye, is it not?
If you are from or visiting Seattle, you are in for a treat! Il Fornaio is participating in one of the year’s most anticipated culinary events: Seattle Restaurant Week. The culinary celebration goes from April 9th through the 19th, Monday through Thursday. Guests are enticed to enjoy three incredible courses for $28. Il Fornaio is welcoming newcomers and return guests to dine with them during Seattle Restaurant Week to enjoy a selection of their favorite Italian fare.
One of our favorite dishes is, hands down, the Cappellacci di Zucca – Fresh ravioli filled with butternut squash and walnuts, tomato sauce, brown butter, parmesan and crispy sage. The main entree is simply incredible. Pair the dish with an amazing Italian wine and voila, Bon Appétit!
From April 2-15th, Il Fornaio celebrates the Italian region of Calabria for Festa Regionale. During this time, Il Fornaio will offer fun promotions for passport holders, a special flavorful menu from the region with featured wines, and an exclusive three course dining option for $31.99. If you have an opportunity to dine during Festa Regionale, our top pick on the exclusive menu is the Maccarruni ca N’Duja e Melangiane — Tubular spaghetti with spicy Calabrian sausage, fried eggplant and marinara sauce.
If you have to miss the excitement of this authentic culinary spotlight at Festa Regionale, don’t fret because Puglia will be the featured Festa Regionale beginning May 7th.
Now all that is left for you is to make a reservation for lunch or dinner and begin your dining expedition in true Italian style.

Seattle moviegoers are in for a rare and nostalgic treat this month as James Cameron takes them back to the “Titanic” with a 3D release of the Academy Award winning film.
Who can possibly forget their first trip with Titanic back in 1997 during its original release? Cameron has gone back and redone the entire movie with lush RealD 3D, which makes the viewing experience better for those who have already seen it, and extraordinary for first-time viewers.
The timeless tale of Jack and Rose’s love feels just as fresh today as the original release. The chance to see it again on the big screen is one not to be missed! Why not make it a nautical themed-night by hitting up happy hour at Pike Place Chowder before the show? Happy hour runs weekdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and features deals on the famed chowder as well as half-priced beer and wine.
Tucked into a cozy corner on the third floor of Pacific Place resides Sixth Avenue Wine Seller, a charming retail space which offers up distinctive and unique wine accessories, gifts, and much more. Discretely located toward the rear of the wine seller is a quaint tasting area and piano bar with views overlooking the bustling city below.
In the tasting room and bar is where all of the wine vintner action goes down. One of the best ways to get to know wine is to taste before you buy and Sixth Avenue Wine Seller has a great selection of wine tastings coming up to get your palate re-acquainted for spring. Get ready to Swirl, Sip and Socialize this month.
Thirsty Thursdays – a quintessential time to moisten your palate. On Thursday, April 5th get ready to taste a myriad of complex terroir-driven, aromatic Oregon Pinot Noirs from Cristom Winery. You will have the opportunity to taste through four different ’08 vintages from the high-end Pinot producer. From Washington you are in for a treat. Kiona Winery from the Red Mountain region of eastern Washington will be showcasing a Chardonnay and a beautiful Cabernet. In addition prepare for not only one, but two mystery wines. Guess you will have to get to this tasting to find out what the mystery is all about.
The Thirsty Thursday tasting is $10 for both wineries and waived with a bottle purchase. The tasting will commence at 6 p.m.
If you are attached to a busy work schedule, don’t fret if you cannot make the first Thirsty Thursday event in April. Sixth Avenue Wine Seller is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the happiest hour of the day! Every week day from 3 p.m. t o 6 p.m., enjoy exclusive house specials. From tasty wine flights to savory snacks your day will definitely get better with a visit to Sixth Avenue Wine Seller’s happy hour.
